Designing Handmade Greeting Cards
Photos of Making Greeting Cards
I make each handmade greeting card from my home in Granbury, Texas. Most of the
vintage postcards are circa 1910 - some a little earlier and some a little later.
The stamps on these vintage postcards are the 1 cent Franklin stamps. All the vintage postcards I use are actually old. They are all originals - no reproductions. The inside of the card is blank for you to add your own personal message. The back of the handmade card tells a little about the handmade greeting card and the vintage postcard used to make it. Each blank greeting card comes complete with an envelope, and each card and envelope set is packaged in a protective sleeve.
I have made a large variety of these handmade greeting cards, including
birthday greeting cards, Christmas greeting cards, New Years greeting cards, Thanksgiving greeting cards, Easter greeting cards,
Valentine greeting cards, all-occasion greeting cards, thank you greeting cards, and greeting cards for most any occasion. Just take a look at the beautiful
vintage postcards that I have used. You just cannot find modern postcards with the color and
design from yesteryear.
Since so many people collect vintage postcards or just like using them to
decorate their homes, I created the handmade greeting cards so that the vintage postcard is easily
removed. These old postcards look great framed or just added to a small basket or
tacked on the wall. Some people make color copies of them and use these copies as tags
for presents.
It is fun to read some of the writing on the backs of these collectible birthday card
postcards, Christmas postcards, and the other old vintage postcards that I have
used to make these handmade greeting cards. Look at the old names from a 100
years ago - Mabel, Rose, Clara, Ida, Elsie, Myrtle, Nellie, Minnie, Ethel,
Lydia, Cora, Agnes, and more. Some of the notes are also very
interesting...
